My name is Kendal Turner, and I am the Chief Financial Officer of a New Orleans based charter school group located in the Los Angeles area.  I have also served as an executive in the charter school sector in the states of Ohio and Florida. I have previously served as an auditor, servicing clients in State and Local governments, universities, nonprofits, and education sectors.

 

I am also the owner of K. R. Turner, CPA LLC.

I am currently a doctoral student in Public Administration at California Baptist University. I earned a Masters of Governmental Accountancy from Rutgers University and a Bachelor in Accountancy from the University of New Orleans.  I also have a Bachelor in Arts degree in Sociology and Criminal Justice from Southeastern Louisiana University. I am a Certified Public Accountant (LA and CA) and a Chartered Global Management Accountant.  I currently serve as a member of the American Institute of CPA’s Government Performance and Accountability Committee. I hold a certificate in internal controls sponsored by AICPA and COSO.

Most of all I am the single mother of a highly energetic, eager, clever beautiful four-year-old “big girl” named Kali Rain.
